Dear Fans & Friends of FROST,
Thank you so much for your submissions in our 2nd Annual Design Your Dream Doughnut competition! We definitely have the most creative fans around!
After combing through hundreds of amazing ideas, we have selected three finalists to take part in our tasting during our National Doughnut Day event on June 3.
Because we could only select three finalists, here's some of the criteria we used to make our picks:
- Likeability We chose flavors we thought would have broad appeal.
- Feasability We have to be able to create the doughnut in a high-production kitchen, and the cost of ingredients must be realistic.
- Novel We only selected flavors that were not on our existing list for future development, or were too similar.
THE FINALISTS ARE:
"Irish Car Bomb" by Stephanie Chen
"A chocolate cake doughnut baked with Guinness and topped with Bailey's frosting and garnished in chocolate shavings."
"Ballpark Pretzel" by Melissa Carlstedt
"Perfect salty sweet goodness that reminds you of summer and the ballpark! Chocolate cake doughnut with a lightly salted caramel frosting dipped in crushed pretzels and drizzled with white chocolate."
"Bacon Apple Pie" by Jen Traeger
"A bismarck doughnut with apple pie filling, topped with maple icing and brown sugar bacon."
Can we say YUM? Join us for our National Doughnut Day celebration THIS FRIDAY, June 3 from 4pm - 6pm and taste the finalists doughnuts and vote for the winner (we'll be tasting till close at 8 or until we run out). We will also be announcing special category and honorable mention winners soon.
